Waste reduction & Recycling policies
Waste Reduction and Recycling Policies
Printer Paper. Printed paper then becomes draft and scrap paper. Use as little paper when printing, and print only when needed.
Plant Pots. Re-use pots to re-pot more plants to reduce the number of pots needed.
Trash Bins. There are several different bins around the Gardens: One for Recycling, one for compost, and one for paper.
Bulletin Board. Used to share messages around the community without the need for multiple copies of fliers / memos.
From Paper to Online. Reduce paper copies of newspapers, journals, letters, etc. by switching to online subscriptions.
Employees Bring Lunches. Employees bring their lunches in reusable containers instead of going out or using non-recyclable materials.
Recycling. Recycling paper and co-mingled materials in both the office and in the gardens.
Christmas Trees. Recycle the Christmas trees that we don’t sell.
Reducing Waste in the Community
Manure. Local farms may donate / sell their manure.
Wood Chips. Wood chips can be purchased from local tree companies.
Food Waste. The Community can drop off their food waste for composting.
Bring Your Own Bags. Encourage the community to bring their own bags and packaging materials from previous purchases by offering incentives.
